In Game

Yoko is the weakest character and has the worst aim but these are not enough reasons to make her the worst character to play. It can be somehow difficult to play as her because her specialty is defense and not attack like many others. When using properly her defensive abilities, she becomes one of the best characters of the game.

Anyone can take a firearm and shoot and with Yoko is not different but she does not feel security on handling one of them. She frequently misses shots or hit and enemy inefficiently and then uses a lot of ammo to kill it. This is very evident when having her as an AI partner. Even being equipped with a handgun for example, she will just shoot when requested and then will spend a lot of bullets. It is worthy to remember that AI partners are a challenge once they turn the game much more difficult thanks to their strange behavior.

Yoko is physically weak and consequently it takes some time to handle a melee weapon but it is much easier deal with chemicals, stones, pipes, poles and anything else with medium range or that can be thrown.

Her intelligence leads her to know exactly where to use most of items she collects around a scenario as the main player or as an AI Partner. Some seconds are enough for her to have a conclusion about an object. She can also deduce what is necessary to solve a simple puzzle. She has no problem on walking along a laboratory because that is a familiar place for her and she practically knows everything to do in order to leave the place according to her ad-lib talk.

AI partner does not use special actions, so it is sometimes difficult to deal with her having enemies around but when she is the main player, it is possible to avoid anything by crawling back when this movement is performed on the right time. Her personal item – knapsack – is of much use once she can carry eight items at once. In other words, she can carry more weapons and recovery items and they can surely increase her chances of survival. She is physically weak against enemies’ attacks but she is extremely strong against the virus. Her virus gauge is the slowest allowing her to have a longer time to act during a scenario and it compensates her slowness on walking or running.

She is definitely not the worst character to play but playing with her is an art; difficult and not everyone is patient for this. Anyway, after learning her abilities, it is possible to go on any scenario and successfully finish it on Very Hard mode (Nightmare “ON” on Resident Evil Outbreak File#2) alone or with others. Yoko is not for everyone; she was specially designed for professional players.
